Jack Valenti Dead at 85

The man who is credited with saving the motion picture industry from local censorship boards by instituting a voluntary letter rating system for films has died at 85.

While Valenti is hailed as an innovator in this sense, be sure to expose yourself to the full story of the MPAA (Motion Picture Association of America) and how they rate films.

Be sure to check out This Film Is Not Yet Rated. Released in 2006, this is an expose on the inconsistent and sometimes bizarre system used to rate film releases.
